Time sure does fly...

It's already Saturday and i'm still trying to figure out where friday went. Yesterday the weather was the most horrible i've seen yet. It was hailing in the morning and it rained non-stop the whole day, if this is what winter has in store for me i'm not really looking forward to it. Anyways it was the worst weather anyone would want to venture out in...but we did, to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I was really excited as i heard good reviews about it. So what was my verdict. Its a good movie, very impressive visuals throughout, but the movie could not do justice to the book at all. Too many scenes were cut which resulted in the whole movie losing its flow. It was like a mad rush from one scene to another. I pity the people who haven't read the book....i'm sure they would have lost the plot somewhere in between the movie. But I do have to say that the opening was really impressive. When they showed the scene of the Quidditch world cup my eyes were popping out by the grandeur of it all. I knew it was huge in the book but actually seeing the scene in the movie was awesome. The huge leprechaun was cool as well. I also like the entrance of the Durmstang boys....that staff thingie was so cool. Another scene I really liked was the Priori Incatatem, where Harry sees his ghostly mom and dad. I was sad to find out that they didn't include so many magical creatures. I was looking forward to seeing Winky.

The movie had its humourous side at times. The twins were funny as usual, with their goofing in the tent, to putting their names in the Goblet. The Moaning Myrtle scene was also good though you could question if it was really necessary. I mean if you chopped that scene and added a few of the magical creature the movie would have worked just as well. Poor Draco had not much of a role in this movie, except for his ferret scene which was good, you can forget that he even goes to Hogwarts. Harry squirting pumpkin juice out of his mouth was funny too.

As for the acting it was not hat bad...Dan did a decent job this time. Emma was good as usual. I think it would heave been nice if Rupert had shown a little more anger when he and harry were in the non-talking stage. One person I really liked was Neville. when he thinks he killed harry at the lake absolutely precious, as was the scene where he comes back after the bad and says to harry, who would have though that he would have came back to late.....that was soooo cute. The Yule ball was beautiful, as expected.

The three tasks...the dragon...pretty cool, but what in the world was it doing chasing harry all around Hogwarts. The mermaids were not hat bad, the maze however was a disappointment with none of the magical beings. It was very dark and spooky but I didn't really get into the movie due to the fact that it was moving along so fast. As was when Cedric dies. it happens to fast and that's it. There is no time to feel that he does die. So did I cry...obviously not. As for the Barty crouch thing...anyone who hasn't read the book or seen COS would have no idea about what the poly-juice potion is and does. I liked voldemort...I kept looking at his face and thinking that's Ralph Fiennes. So there it is ladies and gentleman...my review of the movie. Interesting movie, great visuals...seems like a sparks notes version of the book..so if you want to know the whole story stick to the books.

Well I spent most of the time at the theater that the whole day seemed to be over even before it began. I was so tired that I didn't write anything for my novel and went straight to bed. So I guess i'll try and write as much as I can today.
